If you can’t tell by the pictures the 4C is a sports car in the truest fashion. It’s a two seat, rear-wheel drive, mid engine sports car. The 4C comes with a 240hp 1.8-liter turbocharged 4 cylinder. In today’s world of 900 horsepower McLaren’s and Ferrari’s that might not seem like much but with the 4C ample use of carbon fiber it is able to hit 62 mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed above 155 mph.
With the carbon fiber chassis Alfa Romeo claims a power-to-weight ratio of 8.8 pounds per horsepower. From that figure we can estimate the weight of the 4C to be under 2,500 pounds, which is really good by today’s standards. The 4C will also have Alfa's TCT twin clutch automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted shift paddles and Alfa's new DNA selector with additional 'Race' mode.
The white 4C pictured is the Launch Edition which will be limited to 500 being delivered to North America. No word on U.S. pricing but at 60,000 Euros expect it to be in the $70,000 dollar range. If you can look past the oddly designed headlights this appears to be a great return for Alfa to the U.S. market.
